Do you enjoy traveling? Have you thought about going to another country to do a hike but just haven’t quite made it happen? It’s just too complicated or scary! There are so many destinations just waiting to be explored and hiking is the perfect way to do it. Hiking gives you a more personal experience as you discover a new location often away from the typical tourist travel spots.

Roam Is Calling is my platform for sharing my travel and epic hikes with others who have a bit of wanderlust and are looking for ideas or inspiration to get out there themselves. Destinations are both international and in the USA with hikes anywhere from a day hike to one or more weeks in length. I also try to give some helpful tips to make the experience better and include my packing list. And no, I’m not a millennial YouTuber with no job or family obligations. I’m quite the opposite, actually. I work full-time and have two college-aged sons who are not quite flown from the nest.
Most of my travel is done solo.
As a middle-aged woman, solo travel can add some challenges but it also frees up your travel choices so your trip can be exactly what you want it to be. I hope to show that it is totally doable with the right preparation. Never let a lack of a travel partner keep you from seeing new places!
My most recent hike of the Camino Primitivo in Spain is currently featured with some of my previous hikes available in the links at the top of the page. I’m also in the process of planning my next hiking adventure with details to come!
